SENIOR PROM RECAP

This past weekend was SUCH a blast, and I cannot wait to share it with you! We were able to make all my dreams come true for senior prom, complete with my dream date, and that was such a blessing. Also, I can't believe that this was my LAST dance ever...I remember how excited I was for freshman homecoming, and it all just flew by so fast. But today, let's take a moment to slow time down and soak up all the memories. :)
Of course, the beginning of the fun always begins with getting ready with the girls in my family. I always cherish the memories of having my mom help me with my hair and makeup while my nana and sister hang out in the bathroom with us, hyping me up and making jokes.
After taking all the photos at the house with my family, we left for pictures at Botanica. Ever since I was a freshman I wanted to take pictures at Botanica, and we planned to last year, but the weather moved us inside. We spent almost an hour and a half taking photos with all of our favorite people around us. My mom, sister, and nana came, along with Koa's mom and grandma, and that was such a blessing. We got SO MANY good pictures, and I have spent so much time just admring them. There were plenty sweet romantic ones and silly ones that capture the dynamics of our relationship. I'm so thankful that we have these photos that we will be able to cherish and look back on for many, many years to come.
Then we went to dinner at Abuelos, and enjoyed some yummy Mexican food! I always love sharing meals with Koa because I feel like it's such a special time to slow down, have good conversation, and simply spend quality time together. After we finished multiple baskets of chips and a plate of enchiladas, we headed across the street to
Coldstone for genuinely some of the best ice cream I've ever had.
For the grand finale, we headed to the dance. Usually the dance is my least favorite part of the night - unsatisfactory music, standing around, sort of boring. But this prom was the exact opposite! The venue was at an airplane hangar, which was both very cool and very beautiful. It was huge, with really good music, a professional photogapher, and the biggest dessert table I've ever seen. Koa and I danced our heart out and partied hard, and I mean it when I say we had the best time. I told him repeatedly that there's no one I'd rather have gone with than him, and I mean it every single time. He always seems to bring out a lighter, happier version of myself, and he makes every adventure the most exciting.
As we drove home, we rehashed the night and how much fun we had. It began to settle in that this was our last dance together ever, and that was a sad thought. We always look forward to these dances and special date nights, and this is one of the biggest lasts that we've had so far. The reality of how soon graduation is coming up is become more real, and I can't believe it. I'm trying to just soak it all in and enjoy every moment, and also just continue being grateful for how far God has brought me and the people around me who are celebrating me. This season has really reminded me of how good God is, through every trial, and I'm confident that He will continue to provide and carry me as I graduate and enter into college.
